Brief description of the Research Team / Research Group / Department
ACIS, Myth Criticism Research Group studies the reception of ancient, medieval and
modern myths in contemporary culture and society, from an innovative line of research
characterized by a diachronic and interdisciplinary standpoint. The group is composed by a
great variety of researchers belonging to different disciplines, faculties and universities, who
as a whole represent the literary, artistic and urbanistic fields of all European cultures.

Through its investigations, ACIS aspires not only to innovate on the scientific field, but also
to train new researchers and to draw myth criticism close to a general, non-specialized
public by means of activities such as seminars or workshops. At present, ACIS is the Lead
Research Group on the Andrómeda R&D Project, focused on cultural myth criticism and
funded by the Community of Madrid.
