Brief description of the Research Team / Research Group / Department
The Group was established in 2004 in the first call for the Creation of Research Groups of the Complutense University of Madrid, reaching the qualification of Consolidated Group in 2008.

From the outset, it is made up of PhD professors from the Complutense University of the Departments of Journalism, Audiovisual Communication and Advertising, and Art History, as well as external professors from the Schools of Architecture of the Universities of Alcalá and Nebrija.

The general objectives point to the development of studies of a transversal nature around the role of art and architecture in the configuration of the contemporary city, with special attention to the European case, understanding it as a complex of social, artistic-cultural, economic, demographic and political that take place in an urban environment, the result of the convergence of all artistic techniques that give rise to the formation of an environment that is all the more vital as it is richer in artistic and patrimonial values.
