Brief description of the Research Team / Research Group / Department
Enviroveg is a group of professors and researchers interested in knowing how environment affects plants and vegetation. Goals come from pure community ecology on conservation of natural areas, plant distribution studies, alpine research on bioclimatology, carbon sequestration and pollution studies on natural areas, all of them focused in understanding the impact of global change.
Research lines / projects proposed
GLORIA Initiative (www.gloria.ac.at). Effect of global change on alpine mediterranean vegetation including climatic parameters.
Central Spain REMEDINAL. Impact of invasive plants in central Spain.
Carbon sequestration on soils.
From timberline to alpine areas in Sierra de Guadarrama. Effect of pollutants on orophytes.
Stomatal activities and their relationships with pollutants.
Bioclimatology. Short- and medium-term of climatic variation in mountain areas of Sierra de Guadarrama and Sierra de Gredos. Relationships with main vegetation types.
Comparative plant ecology. Building environmental traits for Spanish plants.
Valdemaqueda fire 2012. Developing of a restoration protocol in central Spain areas.
