Brief description of the Research Team / Research Group / Department
Gender and Politics is a group that develops research on political science from gender and intersectionality perspectives and on gender equality policies. Prof Emanuela Lombardo and Prof María Bustelo direct the group in the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology of Madrid Complutense University. The group's research lines include: gender equality policies in Europe; gender mainstreaming; political intersectionality; political representation and gender; policy implementation and gender; evaluation and gender; Europeanization of gender equality policies; feminist political analysis; resistances/opposition to gender equality policies; populism and feminist politics; democratic backsliding and gender in Europe; gender equality policies in university settings. The group has been evaluated as "excellent" by the Ministry of Research. It has directed and participated in several European Union and Spanish research projects on gender and politics, and organizes periodical research seminars (see https://geypo.es/en/seminars).
